OMGOMGOMGZOMG Slug Killer!!!

Ahem. What has happenned? Well, concerningly I got very excited when the Slug Killer arrived in the post this morning. After reading about Nemaslug it really did seem like our best option! It’s natural, no chemicals, safe for wildlife, children, pets, bees. It just doesn’t like slimey things! Which, is fine by us!

We will apply tonight and update you on the results!!

  1. Sadly Nemaslug doesn’t work on snails, just slugs… but if you have only slugs it might do the trick. It didn’t eradicate ours, but it did reduce them. Now we have chickens and rarely see a slug (you do have to protect the veg from the chickens, though!)

  2. Saw this in the FAQ:

    Will Nemaslug kill snails?
Nemaslug may kill snails and some customers do report success when using for snails. However, because nematodes are active in the soil and snails spend most of their lifecycle on plants and foliage they are unlikely to come into contact with the nematodes. I would not recommend using Nemaslug for snail control.

    – we’ve seen a few shrivelled old snails in the garden, and it might actually be working…maybe we’re just getting overexcited, but it seems to be helping with both!

Chickens would be great, but we’re in a pretty built up area and there are loads of urban foxes around (boooooooooooooooo!).
